Our founder, David Craig, a Certified Flooring Specialist with 18 years of experience as an installer, is opening a retail flooring store in Folsom, CA. With extensive knowledge of installed flooring systems and the ability to determine product failures from installation errors, David is well-versed in applying industry standards to address floor covering issues. As an accomplished flooring inspector, David communicates inspection results effectively in written format.
The store, called Flooring Specialists, offers certified flooring inspections, consulting, and expert witness services. With numerous certifications from organizations such as the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and the Institute for Floor Covering Inspectors International (IFCII), David stays up-to-date with flooring materials, specifications, and installation practices.
As the owner/operator of Flooring Specialists since 2015, David manages all aspects of the business, including scheduling and conducting flooring inspections, marketing, financials, customer service, and development of inspection reports and recommendations. His expertise lies in assessing installed flooring systems, interpreting installation instructions and warranties, and providing consulting services for material specifications and installation methods.

More about our owner
Prior to starting Flooring Specialists, David owned and operated A-1 Flooring, Inc. from 2006 to 2015, where he successfully grew the business from one to over 30 employees. He handled strategic business planning, personnel management, staffing, training, marketing, and quality control. Additionally, David assessed and corrected complex flooring problems, providing detailed instructions for technicians to follow for corrective procedures.
Before A-1 Flooring, David ran The Carpet Man from 2002 to 2006, offering a variety of installation services and establishing strong client relationships. He gained organizational and communication skills while overseeing installation projects from start to finish.
From 1993 to 2002, David worked as an installer and lead technician for California Floor Covering, specializing in complex service needs. He was responsible for removing and reinstalling various flooring materials and often took on projects assigned to other technicians.
In the early years of his career, David apprenticed at Pinnell’s Flooring and Artistic Floors, where he gained hands-on experience and learned multiple installation methods. His dedication and self-motivated personality earned him rapid advancement as an apprentice.
